FaZe Clan: the international experiment that finally worked
FaZe Clan took over the former Kinguin and G2 European roster in 2016 and spent the next six years assembling versions of the same idea: sign the best available players regardless of nationality and let an English-speaking leader hold it together.
For a long time the idea produced spectacular teams that lost finals. In 2022 it produced a Major champion, and the transfer market has looked different ever since.

The 2017–2018 superteam
The version with NiKo, rain, olofmeister, GuardiaN and karrigan is the most famous FaZe roster that never won a Major. It came within a round of the Boston title and dominated the circuit either side of it, then unravelled as injuries and role conflicts accumulated.
Because that team pulled players from Bosnia, Norway, Sweden, Slovakia and Denmark, its line-up rounds are unusually hard: no national shortcut narrows the answer.
karrigan's second project
karrigan left, spent time at mousesports, and returned in 2021 to build something more disciplined: Twistzz from Team Liquid, ropz from mousesports, broky as the sniper, rain as the constant. That five won Antwerp and the Intel Grand Slam within the same season.
rain is the detail that ties the eras together — he has been on the roster through every FaZe Major final, which makes him the safest single-name clue you will get from this organisation.
