VALORANT team
Paper Rex: years of near-misses, then a title
Paper Rex spent four seasons as the most entertaining team in VALORANT and the most frustrating to support: a Champions final, multiple Masters podiums, and no international trophy. Their style — constant pressure, almost no default rounds, five players allowed to duel — was copied widely before it won anything.
Masters Toronto in 2025 finally settled it, and Southeast Asia had its first global title.

The core
f0rsakeN and Jinggg have been the organisation's identity since the open-circuit era, with something arriving to become the region's most explosive duelist and mindfreak and d4v41 completing the roster. Because that core stayed together across the partnership transition, Paper Rex rounds are usually about deciding the year, not the names.
Why the style mattered
In a game where most teams built structured executes, Paper Rex won by refusing to. They played fast, took early fights and treated map control as something to seize rather than accumulate. It made them box-office and it eventually made them champions — but it also explains the four years of near-misses, because a style with that much variance loses some best-of-fives it should win.
